Greetings music Parents! We are almost done!! This year has been one to remember. With everyone going online last spring and this being my first year, we started out the year a little late. On top of that, I saw each student less than I would in a normal year. Despite that, the students have been able to prepare a pretty great concert! We can’t wait for you to see what we have prepared for you! The concert will be on May 13th in the SAC Gym. 6th Grade Band Students and 5th/6th Choir students need to be in the band room at 5:15 to warm up and then get seated in the gym. The 5th Grade band students need to be in the band room at 5:30 to get warmed up and seated for the concert. We will give your students 2 tickets at the beginning of that week for parents to use to get into the concert. For the concert, I would like your student to dress nice. Please dress in spring colors! For the boys, this includes: black or khaki pants or shorts and a plain shirt (no logos). For the girls, this includes: black or khaki pants/shorts or a skirt and a plain shirt (no logos), or a dress. The concert is part of their semester grade, and dressing nice is part of that grade. If this is a financial burden, please contact me. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at aevinger@cusd10.org. I’m looking forward to working with you to continue your student’s music education! Sincerely, Ms. Evinger

This year has been very difficult for everyone with the COVID requirements and such. It has no only been hard for parents, teachers, and staff, but our students are struggling through this time as well. Here at SAC, we have our tree up, but it just isn't the same this year. We can't have the 4th grade make ornaments and place them on the tree. We cannot have a food drive like we have each year at this time. COVID has simply rocked our world here at SAC and we believe it is time for some Christmas cheer! One of our teachers here at SAC, Ms. Bailey, thought we should have some Christmas fun the week before Christmas break. As you can see, we are going to have a week of Christmas fun dressing up to celebrate the holidays. We want to make sure everyone participates. We will be judging on certain days to reward those who really share their Christmas spirit with SAC. Stay tuned for some fun pictures and the winners throughout the week. We want to end our second quarter with a wonderful week of fun! SAC can hardly wait!

The SAC Quarter Auction is happening! Sort of. Starting Monday, November 2nd, we will be opening up the items for those wanting to enter to win the items located on the SAC Quarter Auction Facebook page. In order to enter, it will be $10, the original price of a paddle at the auction, and if you want your name entered more than once it will be an additional $5 for each name. For example, if you want your name entered 3 times for the drawing it would be $20. We will keep this open for 2 weeks, so the last day to enter would be Friday, November 13th! On Monday, November 16th, we will begin drawing names for the items. If and when you win an item, we will notify you of your winnings and when to come pick the items up. More information about pick-up will be available at a later time. If you write a check, just make it out to SAC. All items have been donated from local businesses, and the money raised provides chromebooks and other necessary items for students!

Red Hill Community Unit School District No. 10 Lawrence and Crawford Counties, Illinois September 8, 2020 Dear Families and Staff: This letter is to inform you that an individual at Sumner Attendance Center has tested positive for COVID-19. We are coordinating our efforts with the Lawrence County Health Department to promptly identify and monitor individuals who have had recent contact with the COVID-19 positive individual to prevent further spread within our school and community. The health and safety of Red Hill Jr./Sr. High School students and staff is our highest priority, and we recognize the uncertainty and concern regarding the evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. We are following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as the state and local health departments for best practices and procedures to protect everyone’s health. To prevent further spread of the disease, Sumner Attendance Center is taking the following steps: Placing staff members and students who are identified as having prolonged close contact with the COVID-19 case in quarantine for 14 days. Close contacts will also receive a separate notification from the Lawrence County Health Department. Ongoing monitoring of students and staff for signs and symptoms of illness and evaluation of illness reports to promptly identify possible outbreaks. Conducting a deep clean and disinfection of the areas impacted by potential exposure to the COVID-19 virus. We will continue to enforce safe practices to prevent, promptly identify, and respond to potential COVID cases, as follows: Students and staff who are ill with COVID-like symptoms will promptly be placed in a separate supervised area away from others until they can be sent home. Students are required to wear face coverings at all times, as previously directed and per school Reopening Plan. Staff are required to wear face coverings at all times while in contact with children and other staff in the facility. We are continuously sanitizing high-touch surfaces including door handles, stair rails, sink faucets, etc. We have removed plush toys and other toys that cannot be properly or frequently disinfected. We are teaching students the importance of face coverings, social distancing, and proper handwashing: Students are discouraged from sharing personal items, e.g., water bottles. Students are learning new ways to greet each other without touching. Students are reminded to avoid touching their eyes, nose, and mouth, and to cover coughs and sneezes. Students will be taught to wash their hands frequently and properly, following CDC guidelines on handwashing. As we receive more information from the Department of Public Health and other entities, we will implement additional recommendations and guidelines. As always, everyone should monitor their health and stay at home if they develop symptoms. Sick persons should contact their health care provider to determine if testing is needed. Anyone who develops severe symptoms should seek medical care immediately. If your child has had close contact with a known case of COVID-19, keep the child at home and notify your primary healthcare provider, school, daycare, and your local health department. We are committed to providing your child and our staff with a safe and healthy environment. Thank you for your understanding and ongoing cooperation with our COVID prevention policies and procedures as we work to help protect your children, your families, and our staff and their families. For any questions or concerns, please contact us at 618-945-2061 or the Lawrence County Health Department after hours COVID-19 hotline at 812-213-0199. Sincerely, Jakie V. Walker Red Hill Superintendent

They have asked that we stay in our cars away from the field until the visiting team/fans have left. This is so we are obeying the IESA guidelines.
