Veterans Day Program
BGS Drug Free Assembly
Bridgeport Grade School would like to thank Sheriff Masterson, Chief Deputy Middlecoat, Deputy Miller, and the Chief of Bridgeport Danny Ash for hosting our assembly this morning. We would also like to thank the Sheriff's Department for donating funds to provide each student red ribbon week items!
SAC DRUG FREE ASSEMBLY
As part of Red Ribbon Week, the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department and Sumner Police Department conduct a Drug Free Assembly for the students at Sumner Attendance Center. We would like to than Sheriff Masterson, Chief Trainer, Officer Middlecoat, and Officer Miller for hosting our assembly.
Sumner Attendance Center will be conducting a lock down drill this week on Thursday, October 31. This is a state mandated drill required yearly for Illinois School Districts. This is a time for teachers and students to review safety protocols. Officer Trainer will be present during this drill. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Gross at 618-936-2412.

Red Hill Jr/Sr High School parent-teacher conferences will be held in an open house style on October 24 from 4-7 PM and October 25 from 8-11 AM. If you need to contact a specific teacher before then, feel free to email them.
Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce Presents Lawrence County Educator of the Year
The Lawrence County Educator of the Year program was created to honor educators who have made significant contributions to your county's public elementary and secondary schools. Two awards are presented, one from each School District. A committee evaluates application materials. Both awardees will be honored at the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner on Thursday, December 5th. 2024-2025 School Calendar
The junior high students completed a spatial ecology lab earlier this week. We were fortunate enough to get to use radio telemetry equipment from the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance. This research tool helps scientists locate animals in the wild after a reintroduction effort. Although our frogs were plush, the students were able to locate all of them hidden around the building and get a sense of how difficult this type of research would be!

Over the past semester, they’ve been hard at work using a program simulator to tackle real-world scenarios with a fictitious company called Buhi Supply Co., a company known for its stylish and versatile range of bags—from casual backpacks and duffel bags to elegant satchels, wallets, and purses.
Through the innovative Social Media "Simternship", our students have gained invaluable hands-on experience by:
🌟 Crafting and posting organic social content
💸 Promoting paid social posts
🤝 Negotiating with influencers in various capacities
📊 Managing a simulated budget
🗣️ Engaging with customers
📈 Planning and analyzing social media campaigns
This user-friendly simulation has equipped them with the skills and confidence to excel as social media managers in the real world. We couldn’t be prouder of their hard work and dedication!
